Botany Division was first established as a section before 1982, and from this date it was joined as a division under the Department of Biology. Botany researches diversity and structure of Plants and Fungi as well as thier identification and thier evolutionary relationships by means of morphologic and molecular aspects. Plant systematics, morphology, Anatomy, Mycology, Lichenology and Palynology are some of the main subjects of Botany.
Mission of Botany Division: It is to make pioneer and key research on Botany and to raise scientists in universal and actual norms. In this respect, our mission is to share findings and knowledge comes out from the researches and to educate new scientists who know plant and fungal biodiversity from molecule to species and ecosystem levels in addition with to establish causations and are able to use scientific knowledge in practice.
Vision of Botany Division: It is to make pioneer and key research on Botany regarding to our country’s priorities and to educate scientists who have botany notion and can establish their knowledge in causations and are able to use scientific knowledge in practice for science and the countries needs.
